The mission of the UD AI Club is to provide an educational and collaborative environment for students interested in AI—including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Automation, and Large Language Models (LLMs)—to build essential knowledge and skills for a twenty-first century education. This mission is informed by our values as an institution, which include emphases on sustainability and responsibility. In order to accomplish this mission, the organization shall:

1. Raise awareness of key issues relating to AI (Artificial Intelligence) on campus

2. Inform and educate students and faculty/staff on issues relating to AI

3. Use and apply AI technologies responsibly in the area of privacy, including a foundational preference for open-source and non-commercial software and the avoidance of logging inputs or outputs without user consent.

4. Use and apply AI technologies responsibly in the area of security. As a “white hat” organization, our work and goals will align with UD campus technology policies and respect federal FERPA guidelines.

5. Use and apply AI technologies responsibly in the area of sustainability. The club will seek to track energy usage annually to review using a “Kill-a-Watt” or other similar device and report on organization resources and impact. When possible, the UD AI Club will seek appropriate carbon offsets.

6. Use and apply campus and club resources in order to support the informed and responsible use of AI technologies on campus, including pooling resources and equipment with the rest of campus as needed.

Alpha Eta Rho is the premier national aviation fraternity. It consists of over 50 chapters nationwide and boasts over 1000 members. The University of Dubuque's Upsilon Delta chapter was founded in 1976 and is the only aviation fraternity on campus. Alpha Eta Rho is open to everyone who is interested in join.
